Default Easy way to clean wheels?

Hi,

I'm old and tall, and it's a real pain to clean the wheels. I'm not terribly compulsive about cleaning the car to concourse levels, but I do wash it each weekend. Is there a handy hand tool which will allow me to clean the brake dust out of the corners without breaking my back (or sitting on the wet ground/stool)and essentially using my fingers to do it?

Thanks?

I use this: http://www.sportscarcare.com/scc/product.a...temID=car-92010

I have the Volk GT-U (mesh design) and this is excellent for quickly getting the wheels clean. I no longer have to use my fingers!!!

May I suggest a product that works as advertised in my opinion. Pick up a spray bottle of the new DuPont Teflon wheel cleaner. It comes in a black bottle and sells for $6.99 at Advanced Auto. It does a fair job of getting them clean with little scrubbing. However, I would suggest doing a good job on the first application. Rinse and then spray again with a light mist. Rinse again. The theory is that the Teflon helps prevent the brake dust and rust off the rotors from sticking. It really seems to work after a couple of applications.

- I took a similar approach several years ago and bought a wood and canvas camp stool..................Light, sturdy and cheap (less than $5 at WalMart)!!!!! Doesn't have wheels but moves from corner to corner VERY easily!!!!!

Griots has a long handle wheel brush that might help. Wheel Brush. I use the short handled one, but then again I'm vertically challenged, so I'm not as far from the wheels. It seems to do a pretty good job for me.

I like the idea of the walmart camp stool. I've got one and never thought to use it for washing wheels. I'll have to give that a shot next time.

Use Eagle One (EO) A2Z All Wheel Cleaner. Spray on tires and wheels let sit 30 seconds (NO MORE THAN 30 SEC). and hose off. If you wash your car regularly and don't drive through mud and tar pits, you won't need to agitate the dirt before hosing off. If you need to agitate, light wiping Vs scrubbing is all that is required
