Found the link to this question in the FAQ, but the link is bad/old and just takes you back to the main forums page. Also, searching the 'Under the Hood' forum for anything simply returns a blank page.

Can any provide the location of the a/c filter?

The search function at the top of each page yields the same results no matter what you search for, so that's broke too.

Well, I seem to remember the A/C filter was under the hood, up against the firewall on the passenger side. Pulling up the the black plastic panel that covers access to the firewall area revealed the filter. It's a bit tricky to get back in as there is very little room to work with as there is a piece of metal two inches above the filter...

 

At the rear of the engine bay, you will see the main rubber seal that runs across the width of the car near the base of the windshield. You must pop out (carefully or you'll break one) the little clips that hold the far passenger side of the rubber seal down. The first 2 or 3 clips will be enough to allow you to lift the black plastic up to gain access to the filter. Manipulate the rubber seal so it can be detached from the top of each clip and you'll see them better to work them out. Put the clips back onto the seal first before re-installing afterwards. Once you see the filter cartridge, you can go from there.

Those are very helpful photos and a good suggestion of the socket tool to help prevent clip breakage.

All of us left hand drive owners should realize that the A/C micron filter is on the passenger side (right side) of the car. Also, I didn't remove all of the clips as is depicted, just 3 of the ones closest to the filter location.
