Default Other than my $40 Voodoo, next best cheap mod

Elsewhere in S2ki there has been alot of talk about removal of the pre-resonator. Well, a trip to Meineke and $ 40 bucks later I'm loving the new sound of my S. I've considered a Comptech system but decided to hold off for a while due to saving for a vacation.

Here is what the Resonator looks like

As you can see, it's not restrictive.

$ 40 bucks and 20 minutes worth later.
Pretty good work IMO.

Driving impressions: The exhaust is a just a bit louder than stock. No droning to speak of. Sounds sweet revving through to VTEC. Then nice rasp from 6K through to 9Krpm's. Not at all RICEY! This is what an S2000 should sound like.

It is so subtle, that I'm considering not telling my better-half to find out if she'll notice.

Cool. I have been reading about that and everyone that has tried it seems to be pleased with the sound. Have you done the airbox mod yet? It gives just a little bit more intake sound. I like cheap and free mods.

Yep,

Cut out down the water dam, added a K&N Filter & closed off the airbox chamber/resonator a while ago, the Snorkel CAI helps too.

I like cheap Mods, BUTT I cannot lie!

The wife and I went out with some friends to Outback last night and we took a little cruise to Wrightsville Beach in the S.

I am pleased to report she had no remarks to the amped exhaust note.....

Now if she never notices where I hid the old resonator and if my 14yr old son can keep a secret, I'm in the clear!

Just tell your son that you will let him drive it and you should be o.k.

I did that mod earlier this year and considered it money well spent. But now I have a new ti tiped Invidia from Jeff just waiting for me to get home

I think I will have to buy a new amp to drown out the droning tho

I am planning on this mod also. How was your experience with Meineke and would you recommend them. The pics look like they did a pretty good job. Thanks.

Very good Rod.

I went to the 3805 Market Street location near the Railroad tracks. They told me the best time is early around 8AM. Only took about 20-25 minutes. Only talk with Michael (I think he's the Mgr) he'll know exactly what to do.

I was going to paint the pipe & welds but it looks like the same material as stock.
