I just bought some 205/55/ZR 16 for my wife's Acura CL 3.0. They ride much quieter than the previous Bridgestone oems V-rated tires.

As soon as we get some rain down here, I'll let you know how they do. So far, I like them alot and may buy a set for the S2000. They ride firmer, have less sidewall roll during cornering and grip like crazy in the dry. Even my wife noticed how much better her CL rides!

I'll update you when I get some for my S.

I don't know much about the Pilot. But I would recommend checking out the this thread: http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthre...p?threadid=2631

If you're not running at least a 255 width Pilot, you'll be getting a lot less tread on the ground than the stock "225" S02.

I actually just replaced my Bridgestone's after 12,000 miles!

I do lots of highway driving, so I wanted something with longer tread life. . .but, not something that would compromise performance! Not asking for much right! Ha!

But seriously, I chose and now have the Michelin Pilot XGT H4! They are very NICE! They have a tread life of 50k miles, not bad. . .do I expect to get that type of mileage. . . Nah, but hey it sure beats 12k miles!

Also, one more important note. . .the RIDE is so much BETTER! In fact, after driving my S2000 (nearly two hours each way) with the old Bridgestone's, I felt exhausted. . .my body felt sore! Now with the Michelin's, I feel good! The ride is smooth and the road noise is greatly reduced!

Oh, yeah. . .one more thing! I noticed that my car stays cleaner longer! Amazing, but true! The Michelin's don't kick up as much dust and road grime as the Bridgestone's!

Again. . .the price difference! I got the set of Michelin's for $550! OK, I'm done!

I think you guys are probably right about the Pilots.

They ride smoother, they last longer and they are cheaper to purchase. I haven't tried them but it sounds about right to me.

However, reading between the lines what you guys haven't said is: they don't grip as well. The S02 is a very soft tyre and designed for one thing only - performance.

IMHO, the S02 is THE only tyre I would put on my Stook - if you guys drive as the Stook was intended to be driven then you won't go for anything less than the S02.

If you just bought the Stook as a pose machine then I guess it doesn't matter, eh!

I'd have to agree with S2kturkey on that. The OEM Bridgestone S02's will be the only tire going on my S2000. Although I may get some Kuhmos or Hoosiers for the track.

The OEM S02 is the only tire specificially tuned for the S2000.
