Default Oil Change Woes (w/pic)

So I'm sifting through my trunk today and I notice my tool tray isn't flush with the bottom of the trunk. When I looked further, I see the damage.

I got this from my Thursday oil change at the dealer. Looks like the car was lowered onto the oil barrel which they must have thought was out from under it. Look close and you'll see a round oily ring. They're SO busted.

BTW, I stood in the trunk and it won't pop back out.

Tomorrow ought to be good.

Oh my gosh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How completely frustrating!

I hope they come clean and admit it and then fix it for you. It certainly would have been better if they had told you about it when it happened.

That just seems so typical of the completely irresponsible and untrustworthy people who surround us every day...

Barry,
This is nothing compared to your troubles. My car just had it's 20,000 mile point. I was thinking how fortunate I've been especially after hearing all the horror stories. jlipacks front end damage last week comes to mind. His car is one VIN off mine.
I was just about to leave for the oil change when I read what happened to him.

Mack,
I'll take a replacement, but it will have to be race ready. Say with a few options you may be familiar with: Kumho V700's/JDM Wheels/31.8mm Mugen Front Sway Bar/MG Filter/Porterfields/
Mugen Thermostat/Berta Graphix/SouthSport Track Trailer/Ricks Pimpin' Yellow Pkg.

Another shot of the ring the barrel left. I ought to line up the offending barrel like bitemarks. Hey, I watch CSI, I know about this stuff.

Man that is terrible. It almost looks like they used that area to jack up the car with a floor jack. I think the same thing happened to another guy a month or so ago.

Check out this thread.

UPDATE: They owned up to it being their fault. It turned out to be the jack after all. I'm waiting to hear when it can be fixed, and how long it will take.

They have an off-campus body shop, Wreck Amended, that will do the work. It won't cost me anything.

I'll keep you all up-to-date.

Cyber Logic,
I get upset about PLENTY of other things. Way over the top. Stuff that would never occur to you to get mad about. Ask anyone who was on the Japan trip with me. I look back on my behavior then, and feel bad about snapping at some in the group. Dehydration takes many forms.

The car is still drivable. It wasn't keyed like Pinky's. Wasn't flooded like the ones in Texas. Wasn't broken into, or stolen. It wasn't intentional, just good ol' fashioned ignorance. I know they were embarrassed by it.

This must be payback for those 12 S2000 brochures I lifted a week earlier for my buddies in Japan. What goes around...

I'll be at autocross tomorrow night, just like always.
