Coupe vs. convertible
For the last few years I have heard that Honda would have an S2000 coupe, along with the convertible. I wish the rumor turned to fact. I prefer coupes, but obviously did not have a choice. I estimate if the S2000 had a coupe model it would probably be around $3-4,000 less than the convertible. I also have a hardtop on order for $ 3000 installed. The way I see it, if there was a S2000 I could have saved $ 6000 and been a happy man.
Regardless, this is a very unique car which I love.
Would you have bought a coupe ?

When the MY '04 S2200 concept coupe photochop was flying around I was extatic. I was ready to go and buy that fastback as soon as it hit showroom floors (and I never buy new cars). I thought it looked much sexier with the Porschesque back end. I also like the feeling of a closed cabin not to mention the car could be made lighter. I will buy an S2K soon and I will find a used one with a hardtop already to save the $3,000. I am having too much trouble parting with my MR2 though, this is why I have not made the purchase yet.

Then just buy a JDM or AUDM version
We have no cruise control, no cup holder...dunno about stiffer suspension or lighter rims though
From a performance orientated point of view, a coupe would be better...it'd be more aerodynamic, not to mention saving weight. But I'd still buy the convertible most likely, thats what the S2K is...and its difficult to shake the idea from my head. It would be nice if Honda offered a coupe and convertible from the showroom, kind of like the Ferrari F355 or even the Mustang Cobra.

I didn't read through the entire thread so if this has been mentioned I'm sorry.
But why not just buy a hard-top to go with the S2000? You get both a coupe and a convertible in the same car depending on the season or depending on your mood.
