Default Monster Cable sues all company with "Monster"

If no one have heard the news yet, Monster Cable is suing companies that uses the word "monster" in their name. This includes names such as www.monster.com (online resume), Monster Inc. (Disney movie), etc. There are currently over 250 cases that Monster Cable have filed for.

I don't know about people here, but I am going to steer away from Monster Cable from now on. I was going to buy their cables for my install, but because of this hideous act, I'm going to avoid it.!

I was going to buy their cables to connect my surround system, but not now. I will use something else. I think their cables are overpriced anyway.

darkknight, i read it from other car audio forums. here is a link that might get you started as far as what cases were filed

I hope they get counter-attacked. lol.

They are clearly after money rather than helping the customer. I would not support such company even if they made the most ungodly best wire or whatever they make.

in the mean time, walmart wires rock! lol

They will lose. There are no laws prohibiting the use of the same company name as long as it doesnt effect nor profit from another company name. Like a lawnmower company can be named Monster cutters....but a wire terminal company cannot be named Moster terminal....the industries are closely related. Oh well, welcome to capitalism.

^ It also has to be in the same industry AND confuse your customers and cause provable damages to profits or the value of your brand (or maybe not all those ANDs ). Victoria's Secret just lost a landmark case against a lingerie shop called Victor's Little Secret (or something like that) because they could not show that a single mom & pop shop caused definite financial losses to their international conglomerate. Monster Cable is probably trying to get free press.

Companies like that make me sick. How much money does America have when we can sue people for publicitly's sakes, make the public pay for the court time, and piss away money while others are in need.

I guess Jesse James is gonna get with...you know with his show and all, Monster Garage. Sesame street is going bankrupt because the cookie monster effects monster cable sales by 43%.

I love this country. I am going to trademark s2k, so when you guys use it, I get .25 from everyone....hey, if trump can copyright You're Fired!, why cant I do this???
