Hi everyone,

A newbie S2000 owner here just wanting to know the best brand and type of oil to run in the s2. What have you found to be the best?

You can use pretty much any oil out there as long as it's 10W-30. I would say that if you aren't going to drive the car very hard or very much, use a mineral oil and change it every 3-4,000 miles. If you are going to drive the car how it was built to be driven, then I would suggest a full synthetic and change it around 5-6,000 miles.

I personally use Mobil 1 synthetic 10W-30 and change it around 5,000 miles.

Shawn said it all... Have been using Mobil 1 for the past few years and have just recently switched to Royal Purple. Can't really notice any difference yet, however, the S is not my daily drive during this time of year either.

 

Here is some free oil analysis reporte using different oils in S2ks:

Redline10w-30

Amsoil 0w-30

Mobil1 10w-30
