Tech Meet
Date has been confirmed at this point. Sunday, May 15th @ 11 AM. Location is 4316 - 55 St. Directions:
http://maps.google.ca - just toss in the address (4316 - 55 St Red Deer, AB)
From highway 2 enter Red Deer onto gaetz ave, heading north, and stay on it. You only have to make one turn right (east)at 55 street. This intersection is approx in the center of Red Deer.(just south of the river) has a Church and a Minit Lube, kitty corner to one another. Proceed east on 55 for approx 6 blocks. You have to go thru three traffic light intersections and the building is on the north side of the street. You will see a few school busses in the yard and my car.
For the guys coming from Edmonton proceed south on gaetz across the river and turn left at the first intersection which is 55 st. The old Alpha plant is on this intersection. You will have to go thru four traffic light intersections.
It's pretty easy to find... RCMP station near by, and a big high school. If you start driving up a big hill, you've gone too far!
If anyone gets lost, please call my cell phone and I will help you get to where we're at. (403) 307-1575 - (Dylan).
KEDO (Kevin) has been nice enough to offer us access to a roomy garage here in Red Deer. It has room for approx. 7 cars. We thought this would be a great opportunity to have a tech meet. We would like to have various owners who are "experts" on different aspects of the S2000 to show everyone else that they don't have to be afraid to maintain their car. Items we go over may include:
-Proper jacking points
-Engine air filter servicing
-Cabin air filter servicing
-Engine oil servicing
-Transmission fluid
-Differential fluid
-etc
The date as it stands right now is May 15th
This isn't set it stone yet in terms of what we're doing or if it'll even happen. We'd like to get an idea of how many of you would be able to come, before we decide if its worth holding this type of a meet.
We'll probably follow it up with dinner at 5-6 for those that can stay a bit later.

Hey, that sounds like fun. I'll mark that one on my calendar too. So, does Kevin have a hydraulic press in his garage? Anyone want to learn how to swap a set of differential gears?

I'm not sure what the setup is like yet. I'm going to go check it out one day soon here.. possibly tomorrow if I have time.
It's more of a space issue... its hard to find somewhere (indoors) that'll have a lot of extra space. I think the last thing we want to do is crowd 10 or 15 people around one car in a double-car garage

Hmmmm, the Calgary Sports Car Club has an autoslalom event at the Westerner Grounds on that day.......I'll be in Red Deer but involved so that pretty much does in my day there unless you are all around later.
Otherwise, maybe you can come an' visit over there!
