Please take into consideration that this is based on test results of driving tests.

You know, the ones that have questions like:

What is the proper following distance while driving at 55 miles per hour
A: 20 Feet
B: 40 Feet
C: 60 Feet
D: 100 Feet

Now we all know that according to Motor Vehicle the answer is 100 Feet D!

But the real correct answer is A, otherwise every other driver is going to get infront of you and you'd wind up at a complete stop in order to maintain "proper" following distance....!!!!

I think that accidents per mile driven would be a better benchmark for gauging good or bad drivers......

I think that would still favor states with low populations and open roads...

Looks like I should move to Vt, it ranks #6 while NY is #44.

Well, being as close as you are - you could be considered a Burlington resident! Just across the water!
