Drive the Wine Country of CT - Saturday, June 25
Discover Connecticut's beautiful vineyards and sample its fine wines.
Connecticut has long been known for its pride in workmanship. This tradition is continued by the winemaking families of the Connecticut Wine Trail. Come enjoy the varied styles of wine, exciting views and warm hospitality offered by these vineyards
You are invited to discover some of Connecticut's agricultural bounty: its beautiful vineyards and fine wines. This drive will take you through some of Connecticut's most scenic and historic towns. Where you'll drive the S2000 to Stonington on the Connecticut coast, where life intermingles with the rich history of these early seaport towns to scenic Lisbon and on to Colchester and Promfret, historic villages of great beauty.

Drive on the Eastern CT region
#10 Stonington Vineyards
#11 Jonathan Edwards
#13 Priam Vineyards
#14 Sharpe Hill Vineyard
This trip through the wine country of Connecticut will start from the southern part of the Trail in Stonington and end in the northern part of the Trail in Promfret. We will all meet half-way at the Pachaug State Forest in Voluntown to eat a picnic lunch. I don't have any activities/festivities planned but if someone wants to run with this they are more than welcome. Otherwise, it will be a meet and greet event. I am also thinking of finding another central location for Dinner Hint: Mohegan Sun (depending on weather). Stay tuned...
Itinerary:
Meet at the commuter lot off exit 91 on I-95 north in Stonington at 10:30am. At end of ramp take left onto Taugwonk Road. Commuter lot is just north of I-95. Leave by 10:45am driving to the Stonington Vineyards.
Drive to #10 Stonington Vineyards 1-95, Exit 91 in Stonington and take a break see the sights (45mins drive)
Stonington Vineyards was established by Nick and Happy Smith in 1987, when purchasing 58 acres in the Stonington Uplands on which winegrapes had been planted earlier in the decade.

Put us down for hot dogs, rolls, relish & mustard. I'll bring along some cookies or brownies too.
Looking forward to the ride.
PS I think your rain date is the same day as the GMT.
Edit: Do you want us to bring a grill too?

Svetlana and I are going.
We will take care of the following:
25 hamburger buns/rolls (same thing, right?)
Vegetable platter (just like last year
Ketchup (1 bottle)
Tobasco (spelling?)
A paper towel roll.
Diet pepsi (12 pks)
I will see if I can do the Chicken wings. Do people like chicken wings? I made some chicken wings for the tech day at John's parents' place and chicken wings were not one of the favorites.
Later.

It's going to be HOT Saturday, don't forget to put the food on ice. Bring a cooler, WITH ICE or ICE PACKS. Remember those hot dogs from the Mohawk Drive last year you gave them to us, since you didn't pack a cooler.
Those still might be in my freezer..........maybe I should bring them along.
