Default Install Ipod and Stock HU

As some of you may know, i have been having a bit of a hard time with this one. I ordered a Neo Ion from www.mp3yourcar.com in San Diego, in early may. It arrived fairly quickly and i couldn't wait to install, got home, went to throw it in only to find that my HU has been upgraded to an 04+ at some stage and they have completely different plugs. Any way, got my replacement Neo Ion yesterday after alot of chasing up. Here is the install. Very easy.

Original Neo Ion for 99-03

New Neo ion for 04+ (Note it is actually a Dension Ice Link, Just without the cradle)

Firstly I removed my 8 stacker from the secret compartment.

Then using the Lucid Guide- http://lucidauto.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv...ode=radioremove Removed the HU.

Below shows a white clip that is for the CD changer, this is where the Neo ion plugs in.

Remove the stacker plug and plug in the Neo Ion, the whole Neo ion will fit in behind the HU. run the cable along the side of the centre console or to where ever you wish to mount your ipod. i chose to position mine between the hand brake and the radio door. in its cradle on a small wedge.

Reinstall HU and you are ready to cruise.

Thanks to Aus and Lucid for your help.

Chris.

Hey Matt, Nah, the weekend was spent renovating the house, monday night was for renovating the Honda

The ipod sits in the origional cradle it came with, just cut and filed the clip off.

The good thing with the Neo Ion or Dension, or whatever it is, is that i can now control the ipod from the radio controls on the dash.

Very Cool.

Hey Chris with the Neo Ion, is it possible to remove the stacker from the compartment and put the ipod there using the existing cable that the stacker was using? By patching neo onto it, kinda like an extension cable.

Thay way I could just leave the ipod there when I turn the car off and it wont get nicked

Hey Skare, yes and no,
the Neo Ion is a male plug and so is the cable that you will find in the Secret compartment,
i guess you could swap the plugs so you get a fit. good thought.

I like having the Ipod in view so i can check on play lists etc.

See ya.

Chris.
