The TSB number is 05-009. I know it by heart since our brand new 05 jumped out of 2nd gear from the first test drive. I contacted the Service Department with this TSB number, and also took a video of the shifter as it jumped out of 2nd on a hard deceleration. The service guys looked at the video, and didn't even bother with a test drive. The parts from the TSB were ordered, and although it took 4 days in the shop to get the job done, it's perfect now. You'll find the actual TSB if you search on this forum long enough. I did find it, but couldn't tell you exactly where now.

I'm speaking with the service department about this and they couldn't find anything.

If this isn't happening to me, can I go to the dealership and ask to get it taken care of so it won't happen in the future?

Usually not. Unlike recalls that involve some type of safety or operational defect, TSBs are meant to describe solutions to mechanical issues that a customer reports. Also, unless the issue can be demonstrated, most service departments will not perform the procedure.

Sorry for the slight digression, but when this issue occurs, do you hear a "thunk" from the rear as the shifter pops out of 2nd?

I haven't noticed any 'thunk', just pops out of 2nd.
