if you are somewhat familiar w/ bodyshop repairs, lemme know how much (approximately) repair will cost for this bumper.. i'm pretty sure this can be just repainted. do they take off the bumper from the car, sand it all down and repaint the whole thing over?

i'd like to get at least a rough idea on the costs so that when i get a few estimates I'll know if they're tryin to pull one outta their a$$es..

 

the bumper will warp with a hit like that. They'd probably do some filling and grinding... maybe 3-4 hrs work. Then sand and repaint. You're looking at about $325-375 @ 40/hr shop rates.

 

A new bumper cost around $300 if you go to a reputable body shop + the cost of painting it.

 

Umm...it's a great time to look into an aftermarket body kit...As for the damage, I think the bumper is warped. They can use a head gun to mold it back to the original shape, but over time this tends to be noticible after a few months in the summer heat. Your best bet would be to replace the rear bumper. The OEM bumper is slightly over $300 dollars. To have a reputable body shop paint/ overspray so the paint will match the quarterpanel and rest of the car Look for another $200 for paint /material's and labor...And that's a low estimate.
