My Valentine1 Install (pics)
I got a bunch of goodies this week for the stook and have had a fun time installing them all (horn, console cover, mesh screen and V1)
Thought I'd put this up for those interested in the way I installed my V1 radar detector.
I hunted around for a live wire a little bit but using the free male connector in the fuse box is the best and easiest way to go, the one to use is the far right one that is off/on according to the ignition.
I mounted the unit traditionally to the right of the rearview mirror. It's easy to unplug and put away to keep honest people honest. The power wire runs under/behind the interior light to the back of the driver's visor, then under the rubber gromit down to some crevices that lead to the fuse box. I always hate cutting wires so they're zip tied neatly under the dash. There's no interference with doors or the roof with any of the wiring.
Remote display is on the dash which is somewhat concealed and very easy to read. Much better than anything by the steering wheel. I'll probably replace the bad velcro on the remote with something a little more sturdy.
Cheers,

Additionally here is a mini review. I'm really happy with the V1. I was thinking about the Passport 8500 but don't regret spending the extra money for the V1. I really like the detailed remote display, the arrows telling you where the bogeys are coming from, and the numerical display telling you the amount of bogeys present. Good stuff!

Curious...
I installed mine directly under the rear-view mirror for fear that to the side wouldnt provide good reception for rear view detection. Can you please keep us updated on how well the detection to the rear is. Thanks!
