Default Maxrev's Super Street Time Attack w/ AJ-R

Just came back from driving AJ-R's S2000 at the Superstreet Time Attack in Buttonwillow. The course configuration was CW13.

First of all, I would like to say "Thank You" to Giff for hooking me up with AJ-Racing. Also, Ben @ AJ-Racing for letting me drive their S2000.

I could have driven their S2000 all day till it ran out of gas. The car was... "fantastic!" Hearing the 70mm Ti exhaust at 9,000rpm while seeing the STACK meter flashing me to shift was just intoxicating.

Anyways, I can't spoil too much as its a magazine event and the credit goes to AJ-Racing for bringing such a complete car for me to drive.

I will have a write-up of my own with some GPS data logger info soon but I am swamped at work.

Well why me? I have a lot of experience with 255/40/17 x 4 setup on RA1s and also as a former Drifter I am very comfortable with sliding and swinging the car around. (Don't get me wong, there is a difference between oversteering (Drifting) to scrub off speed and oversteering to maintain momentum and changing direction for the fastest lap.)

Here were some pictures.

Only thing lifted from Maxrev's S2000.

Ben @ AJ-R wishing me luck b4 my run.

Go Maxrev Go! (oh wait.. thats me..)

Did someone call the monster S? J's S2000 straight from Japan

Dragon!? My Dragon style Kung-fu is better then yours?!

Anyways, since I was pitted next to J's Racing team, I was able to talk with the J's engineer in Japanese and ask all the questions about suspension and handling. Their engineer also helped me perfect the suspension setup for my 2nd session. Its amazing feeling when you can explain someone some of the handling issues and and make changes to improve it instatnly. I usually make changes to my own S2000 but its more of a trial and error process.

My best time from two sessions. 1:58.7 : CW13 [Edit for offical time]

Not bad for a street driven, stock engine S2000 with interior & ToyoRA1s with a street learned driver/drifter? Who says Speedventures S2000 drivers are slow?

Keep in tuned. I will have a full write-up on my page but part1 is done.

No, because none of these cars on on the street, they are on a race track running in a Time Trial competition. I think this is a fitting place for it.

Nice pics robert! Lucky bastard!
