Arrow Accident with S2000 after 1 day

Hi guys ,

I have some bad news...
the day before I was like the happiest boy in this world..
23 years old, they tell me i'm good looking,
I just graduated school, work now for 4 months...
And just bought my first car an Honda S2000..
I have also an Yamaha R1, which I share with my daddy..
So I thought, if I can ride an R1, without accidents..
then the S2000 is good for me too...
So I made my wish come true...

A few days ago it snowed, but most snow is melted for 2 days now..
so yesterday , after I had my insurance and numberplate..
I made I ride with my brother, we bought something for my daddy..
after that I drove him home..
and made a trip on myself,.. ent to Brussels to see it at night, from inside my car..
the view was

I liked the car.. it went quite quick enough;.
and the streets were dry..

Succenly i went into the tunnels...this was almost the end of my car's 1st life...
I accelerated from 2nd - 3nd, at +- 60mph = 100km/u
and then my back spinned;. I thought i could keep it steady..
but then my car turned a few times.. en hit the wall in the tunnels 5x

the whole frond is damaged..
the right frontwheel is broken...

A man stopped, and asked if i was ok...
me yes
but the car....
called the police
The police came...and told me, I was lucky to be alive...

I dont know what i'm doing boys...
-is it because of self-esteem?
-no experience?
-the way was slippery at that place..

In fact.. the result = no car.. and still have to pay for it...
-i dissapointed myself, and my family...
-I dont know how my future is gonna be..
-should i stop driving cars and bikes?
-is there a chance to repair my car u think? when the front is damage?
or is it total loss -> - 20 000€ on my bank

-how can I cheer myself up a bit...
because the only thing that keeps me alive now is my family..
suicide was nearbye

i'm sorry for your troubles. not to make you feel worse, but it sounds like you shifted at the wrong moment, causing a loss of traction/weight transfer. just learn from your mistakes. today might feel like the worse day of your life, but it will pass. time will heal and if you so desire, another newer S2000 will enter your life in the future. be thankful for being alive and just do your best. good luck.

I hope this gives you a bit of hope:

I wanted to die for at least 4-6 weeks after I crashed at the track, everyone was writing me&car off and look at my signature now, 365 days later.

I am only 24, but believe me, everyting can be done if you BELIEVE in your self.
BTW. the car was insured right, so why do you own 20grand to the bank?

At least you are alive liemdao. The way you have lost control of the S, has happened before to many members on the board. A friend of mine did the same thing downshifting from 3rd gear into 2nd gear in order to overtake a bus in front of him... Lost control and spin three times and now the S is wrecked.

Sorry mate... you must feel terrible now.

You can cheer yourself up by being thankful to be unharmed and alive. And be thankful that oncoming traffic did not hit you when you lost control.

Pictures would help to determine if your car is fixable.

If you improperly engaged the engine with the clutch when you did your shift from 2nd to 3rd, this can cause your rear to lose traction. Add that to inexperience when trying to keep it steady can cause it to spin out. When the rear comes around, keeping it steady means modulating the gas and opposite locking the the front wheels to keep the front tires pointing the car in the direction you want it -> Forward. Too much gas or sudden lift off of the trottle with the combination of trying to keep it steady when you panic, can cause more opposite lock than you needed, it will provoke more oversteer.

Did you do any of the following?

I tried to keep the car steady...
So I left my foot of the trottle
and countersteered
but it was impossible..

If anything this experience has shown you something that can turn out positive later. At first it might cause you to fear owning another S2000, or it might encourage you to want to understand the reasons behind it happening and spark your interest more. Has it done that? Has it made you think about driving school? or make you a more cautious and safer driver now?

Thumbs down

"Everything happens for a reason" is also a thing that I believe in...

Have I changed?
Have I learned?

I hope God will show me the way... because I'm just a young boy...
I must learn before someone dies...
