Default Water in boot

I just found that I have water in my boot. There was a little puddle in the boot liner which I soaked. I haven't taken the liner off (its too bleeding cold )

Has anyone had this before and know where its likely to be coming from and....

whats beneath the boot ?...can I drill a small hole to let the water out ?

..... on WBT3 I had damp in my boot after an overnight rain shower. Never had it on my 02 which was kept outside mostly.

As my 05 is always garaged, I have never had a chance to check it again.

This is a a design feature. If your boot is wet then you have not been driving hard enough as the exhaust warms the boot floor-as I found out after a trip to France (see the thread "my Pate is cooked"). Solution is 4+ hrs in VTEC. I can do it for you if your busy!

I'm not sure how long its been there. I haven't driven the car since thursday but it seems a bit odd because no where above the floor line appears wet ??

There are little plastic things which look like vents in the bottom of the boot, under the lining. You can see them by noseying on the underside of the car I noted them when I was dynomatting the boot. Not sure whether they are truly there for venting purposes.

at the back by number plate, remove the carpet and you will see a vent - it sags. Smother bathroom sealant around the edges and voila! Works a treat

A failed gasket around the rear light cluster will also let water into the boot.
