A couple weeks ago I had someone suggest that we stop all the clutter of the requests that seemed to be getting repost after repost after repost of the same requests. Start one thread, all requests go in there and clean up the gallery a little bit. So I have been doing that for about the past couple weeks now. It is presenting the problems of people doing
A.) Disregarding the thread, making a new topic, me locking it, them not getting any feedback because they don't post in the stickied thread.
B.) They post in the thread, but nobody pays it any attention so basically it's worthless.
Do you guys feel we should just keep at the current system until everyone gets on track or just go back to the old way and deal with reposts. It really doesn't matter to me but I was trying to help with the clutter with the suggestion of the new thread, just not going quite like I had hoped. You decide.. happy voting

As long as the search AND peoples galleries are working, kill the threads and the clutter.
OTOH, I don't think search works as good as it could and the private galleries STILL don't work.

The single thread is a good idea (in theory), but the only people who look in that thread are people requesting stuff. I've never checked it out before... for all I know, people could have requested a pic that I could have helped out on, but I would never know, because I didn't see the request in the main gallery forum.
Sure it's annoying seeing multiple requests for 'powdercoated wheels', but it's the only way people are going to get their requests answered.
Plus, it's a lot let work for you to let a repeat thread die, and fade away, than it is to lock the thread, and let the poster know to request it in a different thread.

Hell and the people requesting the pics are either too lazy to search, and if search is down (like it is most of the time) they are too lazy to manually search the pages of the Gallery.
Another problem already addressed is, that if someone does request in the proper thread, not all of us will go in there daily to see who is requesting what.
just my .02
I personally like it the way it is. But I wouldn't care if it went back to the old way either.
