Default New oil jet bolt finding tonight

Well.....word on the street is that in mid 2002, starting with engine number 1025386, the oil jet bolts (OJB's) were updated to the 4 hole design vs the two hole.

I just pulled one out of an 02, engine number 1025249, and it has the new style OJB. The car is here for the OJB upgrade, among other things.

Anybody care to comment? Or know where that original number of 1025386 came from?

The oil jet has a locating pin, ensure the pin is located before tightening the bolt. Torque the bolt to 16Nm (12lb/ft).

Grasping at straws, Bill, but could that "2" refer to a domestic market, as in the EDM?

The UK bulletin would have been for that market, and I was not sure how the engine numbers lined up. Looks like they don't, but the change did happen mid year for them as well and they did a recall.

... not looking to confuse the issue here (been years since I replaced mine) but I thought the new bolts were the two holers and the original ones four

New have four, old have two.. yes, that memory will confuse the issue.
