Cool EVENT: Pats Acres Karting Exp [UPDATED INFO]

Save July 2nd on your calendar! The NSX/S2000 karting endurance race has been confirmed!

2 years ago, the S2000 group got 40 people together and made a group trip just south of Portland to run an endurance race at Pats Acres. The race was a lot of fun and a lot of people wanted it to be an annual event. Well, now is your chance to prove who is best all over again!

(Previous Pats Acres Thread: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...ts+\+acres )

Details - July 2nd, Sunday - Pats Acres www.patsacres.com
Endurance Race from 11:00am - 1:00pm, all-you-can-eat lunch BBQ provided afterwards for $10 per person at Pats Acres.

Cost: $75 dollars per person for a team of 4. (cheaper than 2 years ago and you don't have to purchase a license!)
For those who want to practice the track before the race you can show up early and run a pre-session for $20.

NEW INFORMATION (Updated June 5th)

We have all 40 spots accounted and paid for! Thank you very for sending the payment in advance! This will help Pats Acres to process forms and payment and will let us organize ourselves for the 11am NSX/S2000 endur race.

First and most important: The enduro will start at 11am!!!!! That means we need to have everyone at the track at 10:00am to sign track forms, organize teams and answer questions! This is very, very important to be at the track at 10am!!!

As mentioned before, you can preview the track by purchasing a karting session before the enduro. That means you will probably want to be at the track at 9:30am to get the session in.

Some of you may want to head to Portland a little early on Saturday so you don't have to drive from Seattle so early in the morning. For myself, I am planning on getting a hotel room in Portland and finding a Saturday night waterhole. Of course, anyone is welcome to join me. PM me for details.

Also, feel free to organize your own caravan. Some of you may actually want to drive from Seattle to Pats Acres. A good meeting spot is the "Dead McHales" parking lot in Factoria. It has been used as a meeting spot in the past and has easy access to the freeway.

You still have time to organize a team. Just let me know who you want as team members and what your team name is. But don't worry about being a part of a team when you show up at Pats Acres. In order to speed up the process we'll have a random drawing of unassigned persons to create the remaining teams. There has been some conversations pertaining to switching karts halfway thru the race. However, the logistics of accomplishing that is too difficult to be worthwhile. Plus this will screw the timing people. And we don't want to do that!

If anyone else wants to RSVP for a spot I am going to require that you organize a team of 4 first. The track can accomodate up to 16 karts on the track and we have 10 right now. So, I can still take RSVPs for teams only. Thanks!

Remember, a BBQ is scheduled after the race and will cost $10.

The reason why I am posting this so early is so I can get a deposit in before their deadline passes. Also, I know people will be planning for the July 4th week and want people save this date on their calendar and provide enough time in advance for planning.

For those of you who did the karting trip 2 years ago we choose teams at Pats Acres. For the sake of time, do you want to use this procedure again?

Ananda, lets talk, I've got some ideas that will keep this thing more fun and more competitive throughout the entire length of the race!

I'm in again!

How bout making those ideas public, RT. Last year was a blast, but some things could be handled differently/better. Maybe some pressure on Pat's to have all carts up and running well at the start would be good to.

Thanks for organizing Ananda!

Michael,

When I spoke with Pats I wanted to make sure that we have a streamlined process to get people in and karting, and not waiting around. I would like to figure out the best possible way of organizing teams fairly and without spending a bunch of time selecting teams.

Also, there is a discussion starting on how to organize teams on the NSX thread: http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66385

Could you save a place for me, and a place for my son, David?

That's a bad weekend, but put me down on the list. Last time was a blast.

I suggest none of that "using our racing time to pick teams" that we did last time.

Perhaps a qualifying session at Sykart should be used.

Also, do we want to have the teams be competitively even or do we want to have people free to try and put together teams of hotshoes and/or friends?
