4 Point Harness for now, will resort to 5 point
I have recently decided to mount a 4 point harness, but will resort soon to a 5 point due to the submerging i have read on many threads. I will be running a bucket seat, 4 point harness using the snap-in ends of the harness.

These will be connected to 1.25-inch Eye Bolt with 7/16-inch shank i have order from ioportracing and takata, since i believe home depot eye bolts do not comply for automobile safety regulations.
The harness will be connected to a 5/6point roll bar. The roll bar has hole predrilled for the shoulder eye bolts.
My main concern is what would be the safest mounting point for the lap portion of the harness? I have heard and seen on threads that the existing 3 point stock harness located below is where most people mount the eye bolt.
courtesy pictures from spider2k
as for the other location, ive seen other people the other eye bolt which is mount parrallell to 3 point stock harness shown below.
if i do mount it to the transmission/exhaust piping location the other side will be backed with 2.25 inch Washer x 2 nuts.

i will also add a cotter pin to prevent the nut from unscrewing shown below.

as far as angles for the maximum and minimum limit i do understand the lap harness and shoulder harness should be as followed.
the position of my seat will be similar to this picture.
Can anyone verify if the holes i chosen for the lap portion of the 4 point harness are correct?
Also, can anyone direct me to were i can buy seam sealer to compensate the holes i will be drilling into my vehicle? thanks.
I have search and came up with these threads. any other information would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't touch the setup you are describing with a ten meter pole. Your choice, though.
In any case, as for your main question--your mounting point for the lap belts looks perfect and your choice of hardware is more than adequate.

How will you mount a 5th pt? Theres a frame rail that runs straight down the center of the seat under the car. I think most of the guys with harnesses have a 6pt.

Then again, with comments like Mike's it's no wonder there's still so many questions.

There's a big difference between "large washers" and a good sized (4" by 5" or so) backing plate with a welded nut behind said piece of sheet metal. That's an accepted mounting method by SCCA and others. Large washers, hell no, but that's not what it looks like he's doing.

OK, never mind. I did misunderstand what he was doing. I missed the bit where he said he was anchoring the upper harness attachments into predrilled holes in the bar. I thought he was anchoring them into the wall of the tub behind the seat.

In that first picture of your roll bar... how did you have that plastic done? I have all that area exposed and what you have is exactly what I need to cover it up. Any help on that would be great
I have a 5pt harness installed by a race shop in VA. the lap belt holes are both on the floor.. Ill take a picture of them tomarrow.
