"The 06 S2000 is the first S2000 by Honda to have a programmable ECU. Our observations are that this is a very well tuned car from the factory. There were no peak power gains, but by raising the rev limit will increase the average power available when you shift at the rev limit."
Gotta pull the ECU and ship it in for the reflash.
Seems like a lot of money and trouble for minimal gain, at least compared to the gains the similarly priced (and no ECU pulling required) Cobb AccessPORT provided my '05 Saabaru (+25hp, +25 ftlbs).
With the header, however...

yeah the gains only seem worth it with the header. I'm actually dissappointed with Hondata on this one, they usually can do some pretty impressive stuff, guess Honda just has the S2000 dialed in. Who would have thought??

Overall, i see a lot of owners (atleast the ap2s) swapping to 06 ecu for this reflash and the 06 really got hooked up this time. I will definitely be doing this swap.

I assume that's 16 whp? If so, aside from the trouble of pulling the ECU, it's a lot of bang for the buck.
On a side note, isn't 4200 a low VTEC point for having just a header? I guess I could see it on more heavily modified or FI cars. (just curious)
