Default -- You're opinions/input needed -- what 17" wheel should I get and what size tires?

I am kicking around the idea of getting 17s for this spring. I don't want to get too extreme with wheels, and 18's may be just a hair too big for my likes... Problem is, I don't want to deviate too far from stock sizes - I have gotten used to the 205 - 225 front/rear setup, and I fear that if I go too wide on tires, they may dog the car out a bit (more grip on the road, but with the same hp), nevermind induce add'l oversteer that I don't want... I was thinking something along the lines of:

* front: 225/45/17
* rear: 245/40/17

I want to maintain the appr. offsets asl well. Do I also need to consider lowering the car, if not for aesthetics but for function ?

Also will consider used purchases if the deal meets the criteria... (for any of you who are upgrading to 18's)

Thanks, guys (and gals)... Pictures definitely welcomed...

We have 3 differnt wheels that will fit this car fine. They are between 45 to 48mm offset. All of the wheels will fit fine even if the car is lowered with the 245/40R18 on the rear.
If I can help let me know.
Thank you

There should be a "Honda S2000" folder with before and after pics of my 17" wheels. The new pics with new wheels are the last few ones in the folder. I have not lowered it yet.

205/50-17 and 245/40-17 in the back.

Psicho54,

be aware that the H&R's may state .6 and .75, but they WILL SETTLE to a full inch (at least) all around.

The cars looks really good, though I gotta admit I was looking at the hotties for the first 10 minutes... God bless women... oh yeah, back to the car. I see your point about lowering the car... I'm also going to put a call into Jim @ Tire Rack to talk about a few more options and we'll see where I go... Appreciate the tips and if you personally know that beautiful brunette, god bless you... If you are having sexual relations with her, sorry, but I'm going to have to hunt you down and assume your identity...

later...

ricklobo,

it's actually an S8 - 360hp - sport suspension - brembo brakes - leather recaros - all the luxuries - it's awesome. my wife actually drives it so i don't get to spend much time with it, but when i do, it makes me do this ---->

regards.
