Wierd EPS and Speedo problem
I changed spark plugs for the first time this saturday. Also tightened my SC tensioner pulley and a routine diff oil change.
I went out on a test drive and after a warm-up and hard run to redline in 1st gear, my speedo displays 0, and the EPS light comes on. Power steering is gone. I turn off the car for 5 secs and start it again. The symptoms persist but go away after 10 seconds of driving.
This happened again sunday after a long drive and run to redline... went away again after i shut off the engine and restarted it.
There are no other symptoms, CEL, nothing... I checked PS fluid, and its full.
Any ideas guys?

Are you talking about your Honda S2000 or some other car? The S2000 does not have power steering fluid.

I'm beginning to think that anyone who doesn't understand that "EPS" stands for Electric Power Steering and thinks the S has hydraulic fluid in the power steering, may be doing something goofy enough to cause this problem.
OK, you have gears and I assume (Risky I know) you have a Yellow Box. If you lose power to the Yellow Box, or it connections to the speed sensor wire are open on either side (In or output) you will have that problem.
I had an imtermittant connection on mine that took me forever to nail down. I finally just solder them all in place instead of using crimp connectors.

You could use the "jumper trick" from the ultimate check engine light thread to retrieve your EPS DTC.

The EPS is speed contingent.
If you have speedo issues, you'll get an EPS light as a result.
I'd start with the YB connections as stated above.
