Default New owner, lost my top and seats

Hey there all, I hate to make this my first post but my 2weeks new to me 2001 was broken into last night. The top was cut, alarm disabled, and the seats and shifter knob went the way of my ex-wife, down the road. My car has the factory alarm which is obviously not the best. Can anyone reccommend a suitable alternative? Preferably one with a doberman that fits in the secret compartment.

That sucks man

My advice would be to not waste money on an alarm. No matter how good it can be beat. Unfortunetly I know this from first hand experience. I boosted cars when I was younger and I have yet to see an alarm that will stop a thief that knows what they are doing. I used to work at Car Toys so I educated myself on how to get past alarms. Put your money into good insurance with low deductables and try to park in good areas only(not always an option).

Sorry to hear about the break in. The best thing I can tell you is to have the vehicle inside a secure (as can be) location.

at least alarms (if it's a good alarm) make noise....... but sometimes it seems like people just ignore them now.

They only make noise when they go off. That doesnt happen if the person knows what they are doing. Alarms do a great job keeping amatuers out of your car but that is it.

If you want to get an alarm to make you feel better get a DEI. They are the best for the money and have lots of features.

Seat locks FTW

Where can you find said seat locks?

I have never heard of such a thing.

Sorry to hear about your car. Where abouts do you live/car broken into? I'll try to keep my eyes open for any seats.

I have a set and they are the best way to thwart the thieves.
