It is pretty fast but the greddy type-s used to be one of the faster acting BOV's out there and even with this thing it sounds like there's some compressor surge with their bov at certain points (with the vacuum line connected). Comparing this to the HKS SSQ isn't fair since the SSQ is one of the slowest BOV's out there. The opening also seems fairly small and I would need to see how it performs under very high RPM's.
Also very rare to find one without a diaphram for the vacuum to pull/push and I do like its response speed.

nah not advertising. just the video is like an advertisement lol. I just found it interesting and wanted to see if u guys thought it was actually a good peice or not

Looks like the valve is open under vacuum, hence drawing unfiltered air thru the BOV until there is positive pressure...unless I'm missing something. This thing would probably really screw up a MAF based setup.

The vid shows the valve in normally open mode just so that you can actually see how fast it actuates. But in production, there'll be a piece that will keep it from sucking in air off-boost, when vented to atmo.
This is a pull-type BOV design. So it is designed to stay shut under boost, no matter what. There is only one other pull-type out there that is used by the masses, the HKS SSQ, which is why it is what is being compared. If you take anything away, it is that you can actually have a fast acting pull-type BOV.
I'm of the opinion that opening diameter isn't ultimately what eliminates compressor surge, it is how fast it actuates once the throttle is closed to negate the sudden pressure rise in the IC piping.

i'm with Synapse, i don't think the opening diameter has as much to do with how well the BOV prevents compressor surge, but how fast it reacts when the throttle plate shuts. It seems to react pretty quickly. just my opinion anyways.
