Rick... need help with AMD Sempron MB
Rick,
I've tried several times to get that ASUS K8N AMD Sempron motherboard you sold me back in May to work without luck... any suggestions? Never used an AMD board before, but I imagine it would boot up like any Intel. I've tried different video cards, bare bones setups, etc.
The drives spin up, the CPU fan spins, but I get zero on the monitor, not even POST codes from the PC speaker. How do you go about troubleshooting something that doesn't even give POST codes? I thought all modern computers gave POST codes!
Tired of my old 1GHz PIII
Oh, the only thing I can think of is memory... I'm using 266MHz DDR, a 256M and a 512M chip (slots I and II, respectively) from Kingston. According to Kingston's site, that memory config is acceptable (even if it is the slowest performer it accepts).
Help!
