Scroll down midway through the first page, and you'll see pics of Acura's "new" key design. Its a switchblade, and its got a great clean integrated look.

An 06 TSX owner spoke with his dealer, who think that key can be retrofitted to his TSX. I'm wondering whether we could do the same - I don't think it should be a problem. I'm heading to the dealer tomorrow so I'll ask, but I'm wondering if anyone here knows.

first off, that TL is awesome. I would love to have one.

and second, the key would still have the Acura logo on the back. Probably not worth the hassle IMO. Let us know what you find out though!

What's the big deal about switch-blade keys? I've had two in the past, and still have one now with my wife's Golf. The keys are so bulky and huge to put them in the pockets. Not to mention hassels going through airport security. I'll stay with my current keys to the S.

I guess if you never had one, it's pretty interesting and fun to play with. Just keep pushing that round button to flip the blade out and put it back.

OMG I want that! The Acura emblem shouldn't be a problem after all the hard part is done. I'm sure I could find an H or S emblem of that size.

It's not really more bulky if it has the alarm fob integrated. If you were comparing it to a new Accord key, then yes, it would be going in the wrong direction. Also, a square in your pants is better than a pointed object other than the special 12-incher.

What's a coincidence about that thread you posted, is that not only is the OP a good friend of mine, but he's a past S2K owner and active photo-whore here at S2Ki under the same screen name.

Do a search for him here, you'll see some sweet pics taken by him of his car.

Haha, good stuff. Yeah, I'm also a big poster on AZ since we also have a TL.

I too agree that the "Acura" symbol doesn't bother me one bit - especially since I'm a big Acura fan and owner. I figure that I could 'mod" the key so that I could put the S2000 shield on the AP2 keys on there.

Does anyone know if this is doable? Can we just buy the switchblade key, and then go to my local Honda dealer to have it reprogrammed to my S2k?

Any possible way this could work on an AP1 without a lot of $$$?

From the thread title, I thought I was getting a key to a nice hotel room that was S2000 themed.
