Watching Genius at Work
Just spent a cracking day at the Centre Gravity Academy Workshop having the S geo'ed by Chris.
Had this done on recommendation of others on this forum & after meeting Chris at Donnington last year on an S2k trackday.
The guy is unbelievable with his knowledge & work ethic. He did a lot of checking & fiddling with things i didn't initially understand but with his way of working & approach to Clients, myself & Rich (Motogp1 who came down to watch) soon picked up enough to realise how important this side of things is to the car & its performance.
Chris found some significant problems & these were soon remedied with the gizmo's & machines he has at his disposal.
Took it out for a test drive with Chris at the wheel & i found my eyeballs stuck to the windscreen when he emergency braked at high speed to test the toe & camber settings were spot on. They were, my face, meanwhile, hasn't recovered, which is no bad thing when you've got a boat race like mine.
Car now feels so much more planted although the back end is slightly twitchy over undualtions due, according to Chris, a rear damper needing replacement. Local dealer will be visited Monday.
Came home via M6 & left one junction early to try some twisties i know very well for blasting on. Deliberately left turning into corners late to VERY late to test things & i can now feel each wheel doing the work it should do. I had previously suffered a bit (unknowingly) from oversteer & this had completely dissapeared as i threw it round some bends. What a car, made even more complete following the input & adjustments from a master of his trade.
Centre Gravity & Chris Franklin.
Superb. Accept no substitutes, your car deserves no less.
Some pics to follow soon as i upload them.
