Yes another Diff ?
Ok, I just replaced wheel bearing and hub and rear ball joints and my car was still making noise. Sounded like an unbalanced load in the was machine if that helps. Jacked the car up and the saw oil leaking out of the flange that mates with the pass side axle. When driving I didn't hear anything rattling around inside, so I'm hoping my gears are ok. Could it be I just need to replace the seal and and bearing, or does it sound like the whole thing is shot?
Yeah I'm guessing it atleast needs new output shaft seals and bearings. I'm just wondering what the odds are that my 4.57's are still in one piece?
Great sidemarkers btw, I don't have to worry about taking a toothpick to them to clear away the wax from the writing like the stock ones

I really can't say. I would be guessing.
Replacing the bearings on the LSD will require you to reset the back lash. So it would be best done by someone that knows how to build a diff. He should be able to tell the state of the gear at that time.

Ok cool. I'm going to pull it and open it up after work. Is it safe to say if the gears look good they are good? If the gears or housing is screwed up I'm just going to get a junkyard diff for the time being, so I'd rather not pay someone to look at it if I'm not going to end up working on it for a while.
Ok, they open it up and clean it out with solvent. Take some gear marking compound and inspect the gear mesh pattern (In the helms manual) Post a picture of the markings. Be sure to shoot both the front and back side of the ring gear's teeth.
