I just sold my 96 NSX with 37k miles for $43K. As reliable as any other Honda. If I could only own one, it would be the NSX hands down. Much more torque, much more comfortable, much faster and, in my opinion, handles better.

The 6spd, 3.2l version with 290 instead of 270hp didn't show up until '97. IMO, that's the only one worth trading an S2000 in one. I've driven a couple of the 3.0l versions and yeah they're nice and sexy, but they're a bit too pricey for a car that old. The cost doesn't justify trading an S2000 in on one. I was thinking of getting an older NSX until the S2000 came out.

www.nsxprime.com is a good resource.

I heard the maintenance cost on this thing is ridiculous.

My friend's dad just recently bought a Porsche Turbo over a new NSX because he found out the maintenance of the NSX was going to be MORE than the turbo...

Any truths to this?

didn't caranddriver or R&T have a article recently talking about buying a used NSX. They said that maintenance is cheap for a "supercar", and they also recommended that you stay away from the targa. I would provide a link if i could find it.

Seung,

I agree with previous answers.......low maintenance costs, T's with chassis flex, terrific sports car, etc. With the many and significant changes in '97 (see NSXprime FAQ), along with the narrowing price gap since last year vs '96 and earlier NSXs, I would opt for a '97 or newer. The NSX 6-speed is a 'clone' of the S2000 so your learning curve and feel for the short throws and narrow gates carries between the two cars as if they were one. I appreciate the much greater torque of the NSX while driving it but the S2000 gets the job done just the same. Part of their differences in character. As such one complements the other perfectly.
