Default first detail on my '07 - badge worthy?

After reading many product reviews, I decided to order a number of Jeff's Werkstatt products a couple weeks ago, along with another decent sized order from autopia car care to get some Sonus towels and applicators, oxo buckets, caddy, wheel brush and duster, and a couple of the foam applicators with a hand grip. After having family in town for a week, I was able to spend some time on the car yesterday.

I started with the Werkstatt auto body wash using the rubber-lined sheepskin mit from Griots, which I found to be really nice when it's only 50 degrees out when you start... then clayed with the Sonus ultra-fine that I was able to add free from Autopia (but I made a mistake with that, as it didn't seem aggressive enough to remove some of the residue left from the new vehicle wrap).

Then on to Werkstatt Carnauba Prime followed by Acrylic Jett Trigger. I spent some time discussing products with Jeff via e-mail, and he recommended this combination to get a bit of Carnauba depth (rather than going with standard Prime and Carnauba Jett, though that might be something worth trying later).

Here are the results, sorry for the crappy camera-phone pictures, I wanted to get something captured while some light remained and I was at the in-law's house to take advantage of their hose and driveway, things I've foregone in order to live the "urban" lifestyle...

sorry wanabe, i'm rather new at this and was unsure of the proper protocols. i had just seen a number of "is this badge worthy" threads and assumed that's how it was done.

now to update the thread with some pics from a proper camera...

cheers,
phil

that's my goal this time around. this is my first real new car, so it should be easier to keep it looking good with more of a preventative and maintenance schedule... i may even be able to keep the engine bay clean... when starting with a filthy bay i didn't know where to start, and it just stayed nasty.

You should try a dab of prime on the wrap residue.
I have used Klasse AIO in the past to very easily remove vehicle wrap residue and since prime is a "new" AIO, that SHOULD do the trick.

Either that or some sort of "goo remover"... My personal arsenal contains some 3m adhesive remover, but that's some serious stuff. It would also take that off in NO time.

Of course, it would also require reapplication of your protectant.
