Default AEM FIC finally out

http://forum.aempower.com/forum/index.php?...c&topic=19885.0

Looks like they're ready to ship them according to this link. I'm very interested in using this for a bit more boost.

Any thoughts?

That will be a very good setup for non ITB applications of any kind. This will make the AEM ECU pretty much pointless for 99.99% of the people in the FI forum and probobly 99.99% of the people in the NA "JDM" forum. Good find.

so this would be essentially as good as the AEM EMS 1052 but in a piggyback form? in what areas would this fall short of the EMS?

anyone know this unit allows timing advance? the posts specifically mention being able to retard timing, but nothing about advancing it. I would guess this is due to the unit being specifically designed for factory n/a vehicles with add-on f/i.

How much extra work would it be to install the unit using the universal harness rather than wait for the plug-and-play S2000 harness?

Just purchase a boomslang harness and tap into it. Guessing about 30 minutes work.

The boomslang will cost you $100 - so if the AEM S2000 harness is less than $200, I would wait for it.
