Default Best S2000 Price In the Rockies?

I am trying to purchase a 2002 S2000 in Silver/Red. Unfortunately, it seems that a good price is hard to find in my home state of CA.

I am considering an out-of-state purchase. If I can save enough in your area, I would fly there and then drive it back to CA. I am hoping that the local owners here can help me out.

I would love to know: Where (Dealership Name), when, and how much did you pay for your S2000 (relative to Invoice or MSRP)? Also, what year is your S2000?

Any info that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to being a proud member of the elite S2K community in the near future.

Many thanks in advance.

Hey Maveric,
We welcome you to the S2Ki community! My "Black Beauty" is a 2001 and was purchased in Denver for MSRP at Ralph Schomp Honda/BMW ($32740 in Feb. 2001). I believe they're at $32,840 this year (MSRP). I had an excellent experience with the people at Schomp, could'nt ask to be treated better! We had tried to purchase in Colorado Springs (Team Honda) but they wanted $4000 over MSRP, would not budge on the price, and lied to us to boot...definetly NOT recomended!

I'll second jss2k's idea if you come out to Colorado and join you both for lunch or dinner in either Ft. Collins or Denver... it's a great drive for me either way!

jss: What'd ya do with your plate hole plugs???

-Tim

I got mine from John Elway on 104th 1 year ago for $1500 over MSRP. Not bad for my color preference and avilability at that time. They also were the only dealership that gave me my payoff value for my 99 Accord EX V6.

Empire also sells their S2000's at MSRP, but they don't have very many color choices.

Hope this helps.

Maveric,

I got my Silver/Red 02 from Team Honda in Colorado Springs at MSRP + the $250 dealer handling charge (as they put it). It came in on a truck a few days before I bought it. The guy who was going to buy it finance fell through. So far I have a really good service from them. At the time, they did have a black/black on the showroom floor and was asking $1500 above MSRP.

Robert,

Who did you deal with at Team? Like I said, we did NOT have a good experience with them... I'd be interested to know more about your interactions.

BTW, no dealer prep/handling at Schomp. MSRP, not a penny more or a penny less. I guess we're all a little partial to the dealership where we purchased our S2000s!

Thanks everyone for the helpful information that you have given and the kind offers of hospitality.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that there is as much discounting here as there is where our friends in the Upper Mid-West and New England States reside.

Please keep the informative posts coming, as we can all benefit from each other's experiences.

Thanks once again and take care.

Bakeman,

I know that Schomp in Denver does not charge the so-called dealer handling charge. Originally, I was going to order the car for late spring, but my wife really like the car after Chad gave her a ride in the car. I don't think that wanted to wait. I told Chad that I was not paying over the MSRP. He said OK, but they had to charge the handling cost. Maybe the only reason that they did not make that one up was because they already had one on the showroom floor. For the $250, I decided to go ahead and buy the Silver/Red here.

Maveric,
I would suggest you call around. The market here is very soft. Elway was listing them on the showroom floor for MSRP. I have driven by a few dealers and have seen an average of 3 S2Ks on the floor.

As I'm sure you know, nothing is discounted until you ask. Here are a few numbers to call:

Elway-303-469-5551
Empire-303-399-6517
Mile High-303-369-7800
Planet-303-215-4200
Schomp-303-798-1500

Good luck.
