I think everyone has already read this but here is the press release from hondanews.com

03/13/2007 - TORRANCE, Calif. - A new club racer-inspired version of the Honda S2000 will take the legendary vehicle's track-worthy performance to an entirely new level when it makes its world debut at the New York International Auto Show on April 4, American Honda Motor Co., Inc., announced today. Engineered around the expectations and needs of Honda performance enthusiasts, the S2000 CR will be available as a new trim level when the aggressively-tuned vehicle goes on sale in the fall of 2007.

Found this link posted up in the Carolina's section.

SpeedTV Article about S2000 CR

No real facts (as there are none at this point) but some interesting thoughts about what could be meant by "aggressively tuned."

Supposedly an actual S2000 Type R was discussed and dismissed by Honda back in 2004. Instead, the AP2 was released with increased torque for the US market.

That Type R plan might shed some light on what Honda is intending with the CR. Then again, it could be completely irrelevant. Except for the actual Honda press release, there are no facts, just speculation.

The S2000 Type R model year 2004 proposal (official document from
Honda) consisted of:
-target of 100kg weight reduction
-balanced engine internals (Type R treatment)
-Type R exclusive interior
-air conditioning becomes a factory option
-SRS air bag becomes a factory option
-sound deadening material deleted
-front tire: 205/55R16 to 205/45R17 (implemented on AP2)
-rear tire: 225/50R16 to 245/40R17 (implemented on AP2)
-Type R exclusive suspension tuning
-Type R exclusive uprated brakes
-Type R exclusive body color(s)
-spare tire deleted
-mechanical LSD
-power soft top deleted
-lightweight carbon hard top
-audio becomes factory option

I hope this opens up a complete line HFP products for the S.

From the SpeedTV link:

[QUOTE]So how is Honda going to achieve the necessary added aggression? Given its preference of high-revving atmospheric engines over forced-induction ones, a turbocharger probably isn't on the cards. It's more likely that the company will apply its latest VTEC valve timing technology to the car's standard 237hp 2.0-liter motor, which, allied to upgraded induction and exhaust systems, should boost headline power up beyond 260hp.

Added to that will be power-to-weight ratio gains achieved through weight saving. Aluminum body panels, aluminum updates to the car's
