Definitive S2000 CR Thread
I don't know... it's not a "new" S. I just think that it's not going to be any better than what we have already done to our cars. Just because Honda does it for us doesn't warrant getting back in debt for a car that is otherwise EXACTLY like our older car.
I'll be excited when/ if they actually redesign the car. Special Editions for Honda have never done much for me. It's not like Honda takes Lancers and turns them into EVO VIII's or anything. They add 20 hp and stiffer suspension and everyone looses their minds and goes running naked in the streets.

For me to be interested:
0-60 in 4.5, quarter mile in 13.0
Hardtop, AC, radio.
Suspension tweaks.
I dont care if its FI or not
Now thats what i call aggressive.
what is the big deal about this car?
you could lose 200lbs or more with CF body panels, taking your sound supressing materials, AC and Radio components out of your car. I mean, if they're gonna do more hp, they should of done something dramatic, instead of making something slightly better(lighter, more whp) and a lot worst (no A/C, no radio) at the same time. Given that I don't use A/C that much, but it's something you may need, not just for cooling purpose but to get rid of the fogs on your windshield when it's raining outside. You can't just open your top when it's raining to be that unreasonable.
I'm sure the price wont justify what's being sold.
You could spend half of the money on the CR and get 3 times the whp, 20% less weight and 3 times the better suspension setup, and braking by doing your own thing with Subie 2.5rs.

you guys are jumping on this concept of no AC and just weight reduction like its a sure thing.... there is no SURE SET OF CHANGES OUT FOR THIS VEHICLE! just wanted to vent that out it started to get annoying

Honda officially releases news about the successor to the NSX two to three years years before it will be produced but no official news release about a S2K version set to be released on April 4th......WTF?
This thread is based on an official press release about a new model option for the S2000 to be released in the Fall. The NSX is long dead and gone. There won't be another one FTW.

Supposedly an actual S2000 Type R was discussed and dismissed by Honda back in 2004. Instead, the AP2 was released with increased torque for the US market.
That Type R plan might shed some light on what Honda is intending with the CR. Then again, it could be completely irrelevant. Except for the actual Honda press release, there are no facts, just speculation.
