Talking Buying a s2000 really soon! Need your expertise!

So I have a civic at the moment and learned alot about honda's engine/ mechanics since I mod the car myself. now I am moving on ( or will be moving on ) to my dream car which is an s2000!!!

now the only issue I have would be is, what year model should I get? atleast the selection will be from 2003 to 2005 (or 06) but so far, I am trying to find the difference between those range (year model) but so far, The rpm and redline was the only difference. Plus the 2005 body is slightly different than 03 and 04. and other changes to the S2000 05 includes 17-inch wheels, up from 16s; changed transmission gear ratios to improve acceleration; more shoulder and elbow room; and some body tweaks, most notably new headlights etc etc.. would that be worth it? would i be able to get s2k05's parts and put it on a 03 or 04??

So I hope you s2000ner experts be able to help me out in this decision that Iam gonna make since you guys know better and I have little before I have to trade in my civic. damn, I cant wait to get an s2000!!

my budget would be $25000 max!! either used nor new, it won't matter aslong it falls in that budget. less the better, and if a 2003 doesnt have a big difference compared to 2005 and would save me 5k, why not get 2003 right? but thats why I am writing this for your expert advices. I hope you guys can help me out.

Thanks in advance and I'll be joining s2k club soon!!

I would go for the 05, but after tax tag ect.. I don't think $25 is enough. Most 05s are around $23-25k, so after tax and everything, you might come up short.

Congradulations, I hope that works out for you.

The primary differences are between the '03 and the '04. In '04 it changed to the AP2: 2.2L~8000RPMs from the AP1: 2.0L&9000RPMs

my budget would be $25000 max!! either used nor new, it won't matter aslong it falls in that budget. less the better, and if a 2003 doesnt have a big difference compared to 2005 and would save me 5k, why not get 2003 right?
Big difference is between the '03/'04; the '05 would essentially just be a slightly newer AP2, no big differences.
Personally I like the AP1s ('00-'03) just as well, and would think for the money it's a better deal. But it really just depends on which one you prefer!
