So i've been married 5 months now and i'm already getting the "you're never romantic" crap that every woman dishes out. she passed her final CPA exam the other day and calls me earlier on to tell me. on the way home from work i get another call:

her: "so did you get me anything?"
me: "what? no."
her: "you mean you didnt get me flowers because i passed my test?!"
me: "wtf?"

then again, two months ago i come home with flowers just because. she drops them on the table:

her: "oh thanks"
me: "you're not even going to put them in water?"
her: "nah, you can do that."
me:

i also get the "you're idea of romance is sex." yeah, so?

man, i tell ya, all women are s. anyone have some similar stories? also, any ideas between the typical flowers and nice dinner that she'll actually appreciate? i think i need some GroovyNeilNeil advice..."tell that bitch of a woman to stop acting so hard in her suv..."

Your first mistake clearly was giving her the impression that you are capable of romance and being thoughtful. You messed this one up long ago when you did something that gave her a little hint of faith that she now expects to grow into the normal treatment of her.

If you started out your relationship with GNN's advice, any day you don't hit her would be a romantic one. You'll do better with the next one

 

One thing I never got about romance was Valentines Day. I don't know of anything less romantic than being romantic on a day that you are suppose to be. Know what I mean? However, I conform and go along with it all to make the ladies happy. I beleive it is much more romantic to do something romantic out of the blue and for no reason at all.
