s2000 vs NSX /dead even
On I-5 N, a lowered beautiful red NSX passes by me checking my ride out. He revs and takes off to get my attention, his car was very loud. He was in an early nineties version with the retracting headlights. These are the faster years I have heard. He is obviously moded to some degri like myself. He has an averaged sized male passenger and I do not. I have my top down.
We slow down to 60 3rd gear right at Vtec. We go to middle of 4th gear about 95ish before shut down. We do this twice with same results, (dead even). I get a big thumbs up from the guys and the passenger takes a couple pictures of my car. Was hoping to find them on the NSX forum but no deal. Made my day! I just Dyno'd my car a few days ago on a DynoJet at 214/143. I am running an effective rear gear ratio of 4.33's with my rear tire size on the factory wheels.
With my bolt on's I am hoping to fine tune another 5hp or so, I just bought a AEM wideband AFR monitor and am excited to finally get this installed so I won't run to lean and blow up my car
Thanks for reading!

Nice run!! I love NSX's. Seeing and hearing them WOT next to an S has always gave me a big rush! Especially when your giving them a hell of a run for there money.

[QUOTE=s2000Junky,Oct 23 2007, 11:51 PM] Yeah they really are a neat car. It was flattering and thrilling to be neck & neck with one wide open. They were really cool guys, i'm sure the driver was a little surprised and disapointed with the results however. I think I would be, considering what they cost and that it wasn't stock either. I thought my car was loud. Damn!

Nice run. I just never understood why people love the NSX so much. No offence but for the price, i could find plenty of other cars I would be way happier with and would be way faster.

I was doing some research on the NSX forums this eve since running one today boosted my interest. Average slower times for the NSX I have found is 13.5 in the quarter. Some as low as 12.9 but rare. Stock for stock they average about 1 sec faster then an S2000 in the quarter and 0-60, so yes I agree with you, still to slow
but like the s2000, they are a pretty unique car with the rear engine Vtec v6, all aluminum chassis. They are kind of like our big brother. Although as I proved today and on another occasion, not so big. They are just a great looking car all the way around though. I've seen a few with a wide body kit and they just look stunning, like a GP car. very cool! $80g's is more then I would spend on one, but for the layout could see how it would cost this. You could get a descent amount better performance from a vet for $25 less but the NSX is a much more cool and unique car. If they cost the same for example, I would take the power loss and get the NSX. I'd just mod it
