AEM EMS 1012 vs 1052
I am looking for differences between the two of these Items. from what i have found so far is the 1012 is bigger, older version. The 1052 is smaller, with some updates. Reason i ask is because i can get a 1012 in perfect working condition for 600 as opposed to me getting a 1052 for around 1400. I dont care about the size, that does not concern me, i am more concerned with how it actually works compared to the 1052. if the 1012 is not that much worse then i would love to save several hundred and buy this 1012. and last what would you do if you were in my situation? EMS will be used on a car with an inlinepro kit.

^ Hoa its the other way around. the 00 and 01 have issues with the older software. 02+ should be fine. You can send the unit into AEM's warranty service and have the issue fixed though.

I wanted to write about this so more people can benefit from my trouble installing it,and you came with the right question,go ahead and buy it for 600$ i bought it for 1k
If you want to mount it in the same location as the OEM ECU,it wont fit since the RS232 Port is on the upper side and since you need to connect a cable to that port you wont fit it since the cable will be making it impossible since it on the up side and it will be hitting the Firewall...
I had few hours lost at this and what i did,i took the AEM out, took it apart drilled a hole on the side where the connectors for the EMS are and than it fit.
Also you have to bend the OEM ECU bracket also.
I belice that if you dont move the RS232 cable there is no install. Also the 1012 works great starts great.
What i found was that i had to ground the WB sensor to the AEM to get it working correctly and i would recomend that also.
My Car is Wireing Hell and a mess. but it works. NOTE Brown wire from the AEM
Here is a picture of it and few more from my other Electronics.

You changed the output for the rs232 cable?
Sorry I'm just trying to understand what you did to make it fit.
I'm debating getting an extension harness myself.
