Default Official Springs Thread

I wanted to get a Springs Thread going since we've had numerous posts over the years about which is best. "BEST" seems to be very subjective and there are various criteria. Ride height is a major concern, spring rates, ride feel vs. OEM, etc.

Post your setup here and include as much detail as possible for those that are shopping for a new setup.

I'll start and edit as I gain more info......

OEM Spring rates by year (front/rear)
MY00-01 = 218/291
MY02-03 = 240/230
MY04-07 = 256/207
MY08-UP = 274/225
MY08 CR = 375/264

Tein S-Tech = 296/363 with a 1" Drop

Eibach Ground-Control = 240/230 (default kit)

Comptech = 220/280

HKS/SP5 = Need the Rates with a 27mm (1.03")/29mm (1.14")

KG/mm sport = 398/448

Neuspeed = 280/215 with a 1.25" Drop

Espelir Active Super Down = 314/392 with a .75"/1.2" Drop

Spoon Sports Progressive Springs = 263/383

Tanabe GF210 = 283/378

Backyard Special European R Springs = 262/335

RS*R TI200 = 262/332 with a .8"/1.4" Drop

Eibach Pro-Kit Springs = 263/343 with a 1" Drop (pictured below)

...originally utilized the OEM struts and eventually switched to Koni Yellows (on the upper perch). Dropped the front and rear by 1" for a nice appearance now. These springs are progressive, so they feel soft while cruising, and get a stiffer feel as they are compressed because of the bigger coils in the center. I'll get the spring rates and edit.

No rubbing with OEM rims/tires setup.

I do however high-center on speed bumps if I take them with any good momentum. I've thumped the bottom a few times and cringed. Lesson learned....I go sloooow.

Okay guys, whatya got??????

Tanabe GF210 on stock shocks for me. Nice drop. I'm looking for a good street coilover to upgrade to. I'm running 18's with no rub. Nice ride. Drop as pictured.

Eibach makes one of the best quality and ride spring for our car. Cost a little more then most, but for good reason. Was very happy with them myself. 1'' drop f/r

From what I gather, I'm assuming the Eibach groundcontrols are ok to use with stock shocks?

Yes, but there are different perches. I've seen them specified for OEM or Koni struts.

I'm just curious, did anyone lowering their car have to upgrade their driveshafts with spacers to make up the difference in driveshaft deflection?

I ask because I am lowering my S2000 3/4" in the front and 1" in the rear.

What exactly makes them oem or koni specific?
