Eskimo Run! Jan 12th
Well this was something that was brought up about a week ago and ive had a could of people bring it back up.....so i figured why the hell not.
Here are the guidelines: We are collecting donations for our local Second Harvest Food Bank. Collect all the canned food and mac n cheese you can from now until Saturday January 12th, 2008. I have outlined a goal of 750 lbs to donate. Its a bit high for the first annual but if you divide it by the 7 people attending so far thats half the weight of a passanger. THE PERSON WITH THE MOST CANS/DONATIONS WILL WIN A FREE DETAIL FROM MATTFEET AND MYSELF!!
We will meet up at 11.30 (11 for those wanting to meet in knoxville) at the turn off 1.1 miles on the left after you make the split onto the Foothills Pkwy with donations already loaded in the cars. Dress warm, drop the top, crank the heat (or kill it if your so inclined) and enjoy the drive!!
Since Second Harvest does not accept deliveries on a Sat. we will be dropping the donations off in Knoxville. After warming our selves up for a bit lugging some boxes around those that are interested will be going out for dinner.
Good luck everyone and bring on the donations!!
Attending: (Non-S2ks are welcome!)

Just so everyone knows this is meant to shake things up a bit. Seems like a lot of groups are doing meet and greet gatherings......So why not try something new? Especially during a time when we cant enjoy every aspect of the car and some are being stored for the winter. Let bring them out ..... shake a bit of the winter rust off of them and freeze our butts off
I don't know if they still do, due to the increasing lack of snow, but they used to shut down the Blue Ridge Parkway during the winter months because of the road conditions at higher altitudes.
They may be something to take into consideration on the mountain roads during the winter months.

Overlook to the store and back. At night. Top down, no shirt, no shoes, no heat. Everyone has to pull the heater fuse and leave it at the overlook.
The first year I had the car, I drove from Johnson City to the Biltmore House in Asheville on Christmas Eve with the top down. There was snow all over the mountains and the side of the road. I got some really strange looks =)
I was nice and toasty though, the only thing I have to worry about is my head, particularly ears, since I'm so tall I get a lot of wind up there with the top down. So a nice toboggan (wool cap for you people who don't like that term and think I wear a sled) works great and keeps me quite comfortable, lol.
