Car does not go into Vtec Revs Hit Wall!
I'm expierencing something really unusual with Vtec engagement. When I rev my car towards vtec it hits a wall and the revs drop right at around 7000 rpm's. What could be causing this? The revs are basically doing the same thing they would do if you over reved the car, but it's happening right at vtec engagement. Thanks for any info you can give me!!
1.) You're car is not warmed up properly thus hitting the cold rev limiter.
2.) You're low on oil.
A couple possibilities to look into.
Sorry to hear about the break in.
Post back and let us know what you find out.

Ok checked everything out. Oil is fine, took the car out for a spin and this time it worked. I never had that happen before. I had about three bars on the heat gauge and gave it some throttle on the way to the Gas Station when I expierenced the rev wall. Must have still been cold. I love this site! Please
forgive me for my paranoia and my stupid question.
Thanks!!!

he forgot about the i-vtec that the ap2's come with.
the "i" stands for "inteligent".
the vtec system has both a brain and an attitude with this system now.
the one possibility of why you can't rev past 7K is because you're not doing it hard enough. you gotta be WOT as well as have your heart and mind set to it. you must "think" vtec for it to hit.
if you're going at it 70% throttle, the factory vtec controller goes "whoa! hold up a sec bro. you aint doin it right. i'm not letting you into vtec all emo-like. it's either all vtec or nothing yo! so when 6.5k hits, you can be like WOOO while your left hand is at 12:00 and your right hand resting on the shifter. "
so the computer cuts off fuel at 7k rpm. it doesnt want you to creep into vtec. it wants you to HULK SMASH INTO VTEC!

To tell you the truth I'm not too sure about how many bars there are when the car has been properly warmed up. I never really thought about it enough to count them. If I get a chance I'll check it out later.
Thanks though!!!
