To Sub or not to Sub....
I've been asking around about an upgrade to the stock stereo system in our cars and I've come across 2 distinct camps.
One group says YES to adding a 10" sub/amp to round out the low-end of the car.
One group says NO to adding a sub/amp and suggests to go with better 6.5 components up front and perhaps a pair for the rear panels too (ala Lucid).
I've talked to 2 reputable "sound" shops here in Vancouver, and they too are divided as to their approach to upgrading the sound in our cars...
Now I have an Alpine 7875 deck that spits out (advertised) 27Wx4 RMS. Do think I can power a set of aftermkt. speakers (door and rear panels) with just the deck? Will I hear a noticeable improvement in the overall sound, especially in the bass response?
Any and all opinions/thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!!

My $.02:
No sub; no bass.
I have Lucid's behind the seat setup with nice Cadence 5-1/4" speakers and Cadence separates in the doors. Even with a good amplifier (100 watts/channel), the low-end isn't.
I'm very pleased with my Cadence UltraDrive 10" sub. Retails for a little over US$100. Add a nice sub amplifier, and you'll never look back.

And my $.02
I went with Focal component speakers (the yellow ones), sound deadening in the doors, and a 500 watt amp. Plenty of bass for anyone but a dance music fan. Not even in a rush to put in rear speakers even though I bought Lucid's harness.
Notwithstanding the above comments, give me a month and I'll have the rears and the sub installed.

Does anyone have a picture of the panel to remove behind the spare tire? I'm talking about the one to vent into the cabin of the car so you can hear the bass more. I plan on doing a install soon, but I don't know what panel to remove. Any help is appreciated.
