Default Need Help: K&N FIPK Intake Install on 07

So I just installed the K&N FIPK Intake on my 07. Im not a total newb at doing these things but then again this is my first s2k. I just have a few questions. I did a search but didnt come up with anything in both "mod's under the hood" and "socal" forums.

1. Is there suppose to be a space where the intake tube meets the heat shield?

2. The intake I bought is for the 06, I couldn't find the air injection pump so I didn't use the two little hoses that were included. Did I make a mistake?

3. If I didn't install correctly, what am I suppose to be listening for?

I live in the Valley 818 area and was wondering if anyone near by has installed this on their 07. Maybe I can come and take a look at it.

Thanks in advance.
