Default New car price in US

I am in St Petersburg Florida and watching the Honda Indy Car Grand Prix. On the Honda stand there is a yellow 2008 S2000 - guess how much??? $34,800 - that's less than 18,000 GBP for a new car - is it our tax system or just that cars are that much cheaper in the US?? at what point does it become cheaper to import from the US as a private buyer?

Tax, and we get ripped off by larger corporate profit margins.

Usually, we pay in

Economy of scale - larger population to sell to sharing a common language, road system, regulations, import infrastructure, etc.

And there is the fine "rip-off Britain" reputation to uphold.

Denmark has a 180% sales tax.
And there are a couple of countries worse than this.

On the button.

Plus there is only one (important!) currency to fluctuate.

Malta is second in registration car tax. 75% of the value!

Hey Captain

Look Here

Lots of florida club members had their cars used in various race events. You missed the trackside party....

What did you think of it?
