Installs:

A-Pillar Modification and Mounting
1. Remove the factory a-pillar trim by prying/pulling from the top of the a-pillar (there are two clips holding it in).
2. Remove the factory driver

Connecting Sensors

CAUTION: Correctly Teflon Tape ALL threads on the oil filter block adapter, temperature sensor, and the pressure sensor hose and all fittings. I learned the hard way by half-assing it, having a leak, and then having to re-do it all.

The Final Product:

This is a picture of the SOS a-pillar sandwiched over the factory trim. It makes the weather stripping bulge a little (though nothing to be worried about). I was initially concerned about the finish of the SOS trim as opposed to the factory trim. After installing it, I never noticed the color difference again. It only looks different with a flash from a camera. The texture is a little different from the factory finish. Again, for me, it wasn

Nice write up...

10PSI?? Thats cause for worry I would think. I never run lower than 35.
What is your pressure when cruising?

I'm running schaeffers 5W-40 supreme 9000 (syn) FWIW

I would suggest considering using the SoS plastic piece alone and not putting it over the old piece. That's what I did and it works fine.

My pressure at operating temp is right at 85psi at 3000RPM. And that was with Mobil1 10w30 EP. Since then, I did a quick oil change with Mobil 5000 Drive Clean 10w30, and still am getting the same readings.

To get your oil pressure, are you tapping into an oil filter block adapter, or at the factory oil pressure port?

I'm not too worried about the low hot idle reading, though. Like I said, I saw a few other S2ki'ers that reported low oil pressure readings using the SPA gauge. I think of it like a benchmark, and if the readings stray from what they normally would be, I would have cause for concern (at least, I hope that's reasonable ).

As far as not using the factory trim goes, I installed the SoS a-pillar overtop the factory trim for two reasons. Mainly, I wanted to retain the factory defogger duct, so that extra cutting done to the SoS trim would actually be worthwhile. Secondly, I wasn't sure how to go about securely mounting just the SoS trim seeing as it doesn't have any clips on the back of it.

Yea, im using an oil filter block adaptor. I am only reading pressure though. Not sure if the sensors are different and cause different readings. I'm running between 90-95psi hot with a Defi Gauge.

One thing to note using a oil filter block adaptor, I believe that it's taking the pressure upstream of the oil filter. So if that's true there should be a pressure drop across the filter, but by how much I'm not sure. Using a t-adaptor off the factory pressure port reads the actually pressure being fed to the bearings.
