My S2000 for sale?
Not certain yet, but I'm considering selling my S2000 in case anybody locally is interested. I still love it as much as ever, but Nationwide mis-quoted me on my RC51, and my auto/cycle insurance is now over $3800/yr. Apparently they're not too comfortable insuring a bike that's sold to be homologated for World Superbike racing...
I have too many toys, and pay too much insurance, so some of this stuff has to go...after all, I can only ride or drive one at a time!

That's a thought as well...all I know is that I suddenly realized I have way more toys than I have time to enjoy, and it's a waste of money and space to keep them all. The only vehicles which are absolutely not under consideration for sale are my Tundra, dirt bike, and mountain bike.
No, I'm not going to sue my ins. co....rates are never guaranteed, so the most I'd hope to recover would be $200-$220 for the initial 6 months.
Overall, I have a very good relationship w/ this agency/ins. co. - I recently got a quote from State Farm (pre-RC51), and they said I was getting exc. rates.
For those who aren't aware, the ins. industry is having some tough times right now:
- 9/11
- inadequate loss reserves, at least in the commercial sector
- growing D & O liability concerns, driven in no small part by Enron and other seemingly daily accounting restatements by public companies.
- epidemic levels of mold claims
W/ lots of folks getting home ins. coverage dropped, a good relationship w/ your ins. co. is important IMO. My rates are a higher than I'd like, but it seems like many other companies are raising rates as well.
At least I know their claims service is satisfactory, and don't feel I'll do a lot better elsewhere. They're trying to recreate the quote and work w/ the underwriters to get the rate back down to it's originally quoted level. Remember, the absolute lowest price does not always represent the best value!
My SVS will hopefully be sold tom., and that will save ~$850 annually.
