Full trunk
Last year my wife and I went on a two week road trip in our S2000. A lot of people told us we were crazy and that we'd never get everything we needed into "that tiny toy car". Well we took all our luggage, electronics, AND camp gear that we only used a few times.
iPhone pictures - just recently copied them from the phone to the computer.

I moved the jack kit into the spare tire wheel, which we did not remove, and removed the Styrofoam tray from the bottom of the trunk. That gave us room for our sleeping bags, air pads, and some other camp gear (but not much). All our 'luggage' and electronics sat on top.
2 Sleeping Bags
2 Air pads
1 Four-Person tent (the only one we own ...)
1 Camera Bag
1 Laptop backpack
1 Duffel bag
1 Cosmetics bag
1 Small suitcase
1 Compressed pillow
1 Piece of rope (you HAVE to have rope, right?)
3 Pair of shoes
They key is to use small compressible bags. That way they can cram together in odd shapes filling all the available space.
Anyway, we were able to make this trip in our S through some incredible scenery with the top down. In two weeks we covered about 6,000 miles. We both agreed that the passenger seat was far less comfortable than the driver's seat. There is no way to sleep over there, and crossing North Dakota there isn't much else to do.

will it close well? the left side seems clear but right side it seems like the bag is blocking the blue rail thingy.
Like I said, soft bags so they squish around and fill the available space. There were a couple times, though, that we had to move things around. If the lid didn't go down without force I wouldn't push on it. Keeping stuff out of the cross springs was kind of a pain - I almost wish they were contained inside something even if that means I loose a little space. Just not having to worry about getting into their space would be nice.

That's alot of stuff. I just packed two weeks worth of stuff into my car for a business trip (which included a large suitcase, a smaller duffel bag, suit bag, and my bag with my work stuff in it) and I ended up having to use the passenger seat too so what you did is pretty impressive
